Ingredients:

For 4 people:

  • 100 g. of tender beans, peeled.
  • 400 g. of peas.
  • 6 garlic sprouts.
  • 150 g. of bacon.
  • ½ dl of oil.
  • 1 medium onion.
  • Meat broth or water.
  • Schnapps.
  • Mint.
  • Pepper.
  • Salt.

Elaboration:

To make some beans and peas with garlic, we start by sautéing the bacon over medium heat, cut into small cubes together with the finely chopped onion.
When the whole browns, add the chopped garlic sprouts and remove from the heat.

Meanwhile, we bring plenty of hot water to boil with a generous pinch of salt. When it starts to boil, add the beans and peas, cook for 5 minutes over high heat and remove the vegetables to the garlic and bacon casserole.

Cook over medium heat and, when they are hot, add the brandy and the handful of mint. We wet with cooking water or meat broth and cover.

Cook covered, until the vegetables are tender. We taste salt and pepper and serve.
